It’s hard to keep a secret sometimes, but we’ve been working on a revolutionary new game changing treatment system for years. We are proud to announce that we recently received EPA approval to release for use anywhere in the US and beyond. Read on.
For years, facilities have struggled with how to handle (AFR) Accidental Fecal Releases (AKA Code Browns). We strongly urged customers to follow the 2016 CDC guidelines for remediation of Crypto after a fecal accident, in compliance with State Codes and National Guidelines. That meant that facilities (with non-solid releases) would close their venue to swimmers, shock with Chlorine to 10-20 PPM of Chlorine, wait for 13-25 hours, depending on conditions, dechlorinate the pool to a safe level, and reopen the pool to the public.
If the facility used Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid) to keep their chlorine costs within reason, as most folks used to, then they had to make sure to only hold 1-15 PPM of Stabilizer, shock the pool to 20 PPM for 28 hours (or 40 PPM for 8.5 hours), and then dechlor and reopen.
If the facility had >15 PPM of Stabilizer, then they needed to drain their pool until the level went to 15 PPM or below, before following the Stabilized procedure above. It made folks think twice about using stabilizer, which in turn killed many chlorine budgets.
Yikes!
Now, we are proud to announce Cryptolyte® an EPA-Approved treatment system that works alongside your chlorination system and is rated to do the same job as described above in as little as 30 minutes. Depending on your pool turnover rate and chlorinator sizing, it may take 60-minutes or so, but it sure beats 28 hours, right?
The system works as an affordable add-on feature to your BECSys5 and BECSys7 system, to “Control, Confirm, and Document proper remediation of Crypto and other Chlorine Resistant Pathogens” per the EPA-Approval.
